Recent legislation doubles the income limit from $20,000 to $40,000. In addition, other new legislation allows the size of the state credit to increase from 20 percent of the federal EITC to 22.5 percent in FY 2009 and 25 percent in FY 2010. This will put more money in the pockets of families who need it.
